OD3 started in 2012 with a single workstation and a simple conviction: a constructible model beats a drawing. The practice has since grown into a team of structural engineers, detailers and surveyors running seven Tekla stations, with contracts delivered across the UK, Ireland and Australia — most of it repeat work from the same fabricators and contractors.

Bringing connection design in-house, with IDEA StatiCa, ended our clients' dependence on third-party calculations — one roof for design and detailing means faster approvals and fewer hand-offs. Adding the Trimble X7 scanner and robotic total station setout closed the loop in the other direction: we now capture the as-built reality we model against, and set out on site what we design.
