Quarry Scan to BIM
A working quarry and its processing plant captured by 3D laser scanning and rebuilt as an as-built BIM model — measured reality turned into a model you can design against.

Walkthrough
OD3 laser-scanned a working quarry and its processing plant, then turned the point cloud into an as-built BIM model. Scanning captures sprawling, irregular industrial structures — conveyors, hoppers, steelwork, ground — fast and safely, without taping out a live site.
Scan to BIM
The Trimble X7 records the plant as a dense, ±2mm point cloud; registered in Trimble RealWorks, it becomes the reference geometry for a constructible model. New steelwork, plant upgrades and modifications can then be designed against what is genuinely there, with interfaces resolved in the model before fabrication.
Why it matters on a live plant
Industrial sites do not stop for surveys. A scan-to-BIM workflow means accurate as-built data without the downtime, the access risk or the dimensional guesswork of measuring heavy plant by hand.
Outcome
An accurate as-built model of a live quarry plant — ready for modification, upgrade and clash-free design.
