OD3 laser-scanned the existing building at Langford Lodge and turned the point cloud directly into dimensioned 2D CAD — a scan-to-DWG deliverable that gives the design team accurate plans, sections and elevations of what is actually there, not what old record drawings claim.
Measured reality, not record drawings
A Trimble X7 captures the building as a dense point cloud accurate to ±2mm, in a fraction of the time a tape-and-disto survey would take and without the gaps manual measurement leaves behind. The cloud is registered in Trimble RealWorks, then traced into clean CAD geometry — walls, openings, levels and structure, drawn to scale and ready to design against.
One capture, many uses
The same scan that produces the drawings can feed a BIM model, setting-out data or as-built verification later in the project — capture once, use everywhere. It is the opening move of OD3's digital thread, applied here to give a design team a reliable existing-conditions base to work from.
