The Willows, Dunshaughlin
Two concrete stair cores laser-scanned and traced to ≈2mm, then detailed with bespoke balustrades — survey, detailing and the engineering calculations in one thread.

The Willows is what replacing the tape measure looks like. Two existing concrete stair cores were captured with 3D laser scanning, registered into a single point cloud, and traced into Tekla at roughly 2mm tolerance — so the bespoke balustrade systems were detailed against what was actually built, not what the drawings hoped for.
One elevation couldn't be side-fixed to the concrete because of a clash with the glazing system, so fixing methods were reworked in the model to keep the architectural intent intact while staying installable.
The role grew as the project ran: what began as survey and detailing expanded to include the engineering calculations for the balustrade systems — capture, detail and check, delivered as one coordinated workflow across ≈3 tonnes of architectural steel.
Outcome
Both stair cores fitted out with minimal site modification — and OD3's role grew mid-project to include the balustrade engineering calculations.
