Two Three North is one of the largest architectural steelwork packages OD3 has detailed: 255 bespoke balconies across four apartment blocks in North Dublin, completed in 2021 — delivered through the global pandemic without losing pace.

The complexity sat in the connections. Balcony linked to balcony, and a number of units were specifically designed to carry brickwork and stone surrounds, so every interface between steel, precast concrete and masonry had to be resolved in the model before anything reached the workshop.

That coordination ran in three directions at once — with the fabricator, with the precast concrete manufacturer and with the architectural team — keeping design intent, buildability and programme aligned from first model to final fit.

Outcome

Every balcony resolved before fabrication — connections, brick and stone supports included — so the steel fitted the precast first time.
