Underground As-Built Survey
A stone-vaulted underground chamber captured as a colourised point cloud, surveyed in confined conditions and delivered as as-built record drawings.
Some structures have no reliable drawings at all, only what is really there. This underground chamber, a stone-vaulted space threaded with large-diameter pipework, was captured by 3D laser scanning in confined working conditions.
The registered, colourised point cloud became the record: from it, as-built drawings were produced documenting the vault, the chambers and the pipework exactly as they exist, a verified baseline for inspection, maintenance and future works.
Outcome
A complete digital record of a structure no drawing described. The point cloud now stands as the as-built truth for everything that happens there next.
