Cladding lists that protect your margin
Cladding is where small dimensional errors become expensive: over-ordered sheet, flashings cut twice, panels that arrive in the wrong sequence. We produce cladding lists from a coordinated 3D model rather than from 2D elevations, so every sheet, flashing and fixing is counted once, against real geometry. Accurate lists mean accurate orders — less material waste, fewer remakes, and a cladding package your buyer can place with confidence.
Detailed against the frame, not alongside it
Because we detail structural steel in Tekla Structures in the same practice, the cladding and façade package is built against the actual frame model — the same rails, the same setting-out, the same connections designed to Eurocode 3 and detailed to NSSS (5th Edition) working practice. Envelope and structure stop being two contractors' separate drawings that meet for the first time on site. On refurbishment work, the model can start from our own laser scan of the existing building, captured to ±2mm, so the cladding is detailed against what is genuinely there.
Part of one digital thread
Cladding detailing sits inside the same capture-to-verify workflow as the rest of our structural engineering services: survey data feeds the model, the model produces the lists and drawings, and the same geometry is available for site setout and as-built verification. Files move through Trimble Connect, with projects backed up and encrypted in the cloud, so the service is delivered remotely wherever your project is in the UK or Ireland. The practice carries £2m professional indemnity insurance and has worked with steel fabricators since 2012.

- What does a cladding detailing package include?
- Accurate cladding lists — sheets, flashings and fixings quantified from the 3D model — together with the detailing drawings your fabricator or installer needs. Because the lists come from modelled geometry rather than measured elevations, they are auditable and quick to revise when the design changes.
- How does model-based cladding detailing reduce waste?
- Every component is counted once, against real geometry, instead of being scaled from 2D drawings and rounded up for safety. That precision cuts over-ordering, reduces remakes from dimensional errors, and lowers both material cost and site waste through the cladding stages of the project.
- Can you coordinate cladding with the structural steel package?
- Yes — that is the point of doing it here. We detail structural steelwork in Tekla Structures in the same practice, so the envelope is detailed against the actual frame model, including secondary steelwork and setting-out. Interface clashes get resolved in the model, not discovered on site.
- We are recladding an existing building — can you work without reliable drawings?
- Yes. We carry out our own 3D laser scanning and build the model from as-built data accurate to ±2mm. The cladding is then detailed against the building as it actually stands, which is the difference between panels that fit first time and a site full of remedial flashings.
- Where do you deliver this service?
